Christmas at Mom's 2007

Christmas afternoon we went to Farwell to my mom's house. We had a fun evening with mom, Jill and Jordan Bonner, Scott and Karen Watkins and Grubb and Sandy Howard, Heath and Meredith Rutherford, Lee K. Howard, Rachel and Abi Engler.

Mom prepared a mexican meal. (Rachel thinks our family only eats mexican food. She is just about correct.) We had enchiladas, fajitas, beans, rice, guacamole, queso dip, chips and several desserts.

Sandy, Jill, Scott and mom. We are not usually together at any holiday so it was special that we could all be together.

Grubb, Sandy, Jill, and mom all having fun opening gifts.

Abi laughing and showing her gift to someone.

Grubb saw this goofy truck at Gander Mountain and thought it was so funny. It is an old jalopy pickup that jiggles around and sings songs. Mom purchased it for Grubb because she was with us when he was looking at it at the store. Here he is demonstrating how it works.

Mom, Mere and Lee K. I don't have a picture of Heath, Karen or Jordan, they must have all been camera shy.

Sandy and Lee K., Rachel took this picture.

Christmas Brunch

Every Christmas morning, we have brunch at our home for both sides of our family and anyone else that would like to join us.

This year we had Grubb's parents, Bly and L.K., Grubb's sister and her husband, Larry and Anna and Larry's friend, Dave from New York. We also had my mother, Marjorie Watkins, my brother and his wife, Scott and Karen Watkins. We had our daughter, Meredith and her husband Heath, our son Lee K. and his girlfriend, Rachel and Rachel's daughter Abi.

I make a Christmas punch each year and here you see Lee K. pouring punch for his dad because Grubb is holding Majerle our yorkie.

I use my Spode Christmas china for the brunch.

The menu is always about the same, Egg and sausage casserole, pull apart bread, Christmas Cranberry coffee cake, muffins, punch, and coffee.

Bly brings the coffee cake each year.

Molly and Jonathan could not be here this Christmas. They are in Anchorage Alaska having their first Christmas together. However, Molly knew we would all be together at brunch so she called to wish us all a Merry Christmas. We passed the phone around the room so we could all talk to her.

Molly's mom, Anna, talked to her first and then passed the phone around for us all to talk to her. Rachel is talking to Molly now.

It is Lee K.'s turn to talk to Molly

Now, Mere has a turn to visit with Molly.

Tim

Illene, Steve and Tim Vernon.

I am writing this about Tim, a nice looking, talented college student. Having said all of that, Tim needs a liver and kidney transplant. He is on dialysis six days a week while awaiting a his transplant surgery that will take place in Rochester Minnesota.

The Vernon family was a blessing to Clovis. They came to Clovis a few years ago because Ilene's family was involved in the dairy business here. We fell in love with them immediately.

This picture has Tim's older brother, Geoff and his fiancee(now wife) in the picture. We attended Geoff and Amy's wedding last week in Houston. Tim and Ilene flew from Houston to Rochester on Sunday and Tim has been having test all week long in preparation for the transplant. It is so hard to believe that anyone this young and that looks as healthy as Tim is in need of this medical procedure.

Pray with us all that Tim will receive this transplant soon and that it will be without any complications.
God Bless this family.

Women of Faith Conference

Meredith, Marjorie and Sandy(Mere, Mom and me)

When I left the Sales Meeting in Hurst on Friday afternoon, I drove to Oklahoma City to meet my mom and daughter at a Women of Faith Conference.

We had so much fun, the sessions at the conference were very good and the time with my mom and daughter was wonderful. We plan to attend again next year.

Sales Meeting in Hurst, TX

Rotech sent me to a Sales Training class the last week of October. I spent the week with these two women. Jennifer from Mineral Wells, Texas and Tracey from the Widbey Island in the Washington area.

We spent the week learning about medical equipment and the needs of the medical community.

Here are two of our leaders, Shana from Texas and Julie from New Mexico. They were so much fun and both had wonderful insight into our field. The other instructor was Joel Herrera from Texas.

Kelly and Dolores leave Clovis

Kelly and James came to Clovis because he started his railroad career here in Clovis. In October of 2007, the railroad transferred him to Houston, TX. Kelly was a wonderful friend and employee. She is so intelligent and friendly and learned the medical field so quickly. I truly miss her. Here she is with her "train" going away cake.

Dolores and Tony came to Clovis because he worked for a corporation that managed nursing homes. In October he took a position in Houston TX managing several physical therapy facilities. Dolores was such a blessing to our office and fit right in to the staff at Major Medical. She was excellent in time management, and learned her position almost immediately. I really miss Dolores.

Dolores always joked about all the "cows" in our area so it was only fitting that she have a "cow" cake as her going away cake.

Kelly, me and Dolores for one last picture.
This was truly a time in my life when God blessed me with two great friends and co-workers. Wherever they go in life people will be lucky to work with these girls.

The Rutherford Home - 1425 Hillcrest, Clovis, NM

Heath and Meredith were married in June 2006 and purchased their first home in August 2006. I took a picture of them in their yard one afternoon and decided I wanted this in the blog so our out of town relative could see their home.

They have friends over to play cards and boardgames often, they enjoy their home.

West Texas A & M Homecoming 2007

We enjoy attending the WTAMU parade and homecoming festivities. Here is a picture of the WT Herdsmen running down the street at the parade.

KAMR TV had a float featuring their newscast personnel. The float is pulled by Grubb driving Lee K.'s truck. Lee K. is on the front right corner of the float.

Lee K. and Matt Damon.

Brad Fralick, Andy Justus and Lee K. Howard

These are three great guys.

Brad and Andy were at the game to broadcast the live cast that KAMR was doing for the Fox network. Lee K. was there because he is an alumni and he was shooting highlights to use on his evening sportscast for the TV viewers.

Brad and Andy preparing for the live cast.

WTAMU has the largest attendance of any D2 school in the nation. This game had 23 thousand in attendance. This picture is taken from the home side looking at the visitor side. The majority of the fans on the visitor side are really WTAMU fans that were not able to get seats on the home side because they were sold out.
WTAMU beat ENMU for a homecoming victory.

Another shot of the stadium.

Larry and Kathy Roberts, Thomas Roberts, D'Arcy Marlow, Jeff and Kelly Reed, Heath and Meredith Rutherford, and Grubb and I all spent the day attending the homecoming festivities.

Lee K. is leaving the game to go prepare for the evening news.

Another shot of Lee K.

Lee K. and Blake Bonner. Blake is the third of my sister Jill's triplets. Blake was at the game to watch WT play and he spotted his cousin Lee K.
